Section 4 ? Executive Summary

The simplest way to write the executive summary is to copy the highpoints from each of the other plan sections.

Below is a list of items to include. (You can copy and paste this into your business plan document and then revise for your business).

  1. Name, location and owners of the business
  2. Brief sentence or bullet list of offerings
  3. Description of target customers
  4. Summary of annual sales revenues for the first three to five years

Copy and paste funding table into Section 6 and then describe specific plan to obtain the funding shown.

Using the outline above, your executive summary should be no more than one and a half to two pages. If you can fit it on one page, that is event better!

NOTE: The above outline does mean you will be repeating yourself in later sections. That is normal – executive summaries inherently repeat information provided later on.
